StairTape™ Non-Slip Safety Tape

DESCRIPTION
StairTape™ non-slip safety tape is an excellent and economical choice for all BAREFOOT slip resistant applications. This product is manufactured from a premium aluminum oxide grit formulation that PROVIDES a durable and reliable slip prevention result.

StairTape™ is sold in BLACK but can be custom ordered in a variety of colors including, Clear, Safety Yellow, Red, Light Blue, Dark Blue, Safety Orange, Green, Yellow / BLACK Diagonal Stripe, Red / White Diagonal Stripe. Our many colors help to give visual impact and safety to your non-slip tape application. Economical and simple to apply non-slip high traction safety tape that applies firm traction and durable protection that is suitable for recreational areas such as water slide stairs, diving board steps, ladders, pool areas, bathrooms, pump house floors, concessionary floors and other hazardous floors where BAREFOOT slip injury prevention is needed. Our standard BLACK is supplied in 1 ½” x 60 ft. rolls to fit most OEM aluminum water slide tower stair treads. A variety of custom widths and colors may also be ordered (subject to a minimum number of rolls).

STORAGE
Store under normal conditions of 60° to 80°F (16° to 27°C) and 40-50% relative humidity in the original, unopened carton.

SHELF LIFE: To obtain best performance, use this product within 18 months from date of manufacture.

CHEMICAL DEFINITION
STAIRTAPE™ non-slip tape consists of a uniform coat of abrasive grit, securely bonded to a polymer substrate with a flexible isocyanate/polyal emulsion in sufficient thickness to achieve optimum bond and grit exposure. The emulsion is UV blocked to resist color fade. The underside has a uniform application of a permanent type, solvent based, acrylic emulsion pressure sensitive adhesive. The liner is a 90# Polycoated Kraft release paper. The release liner is coated on both sides with polyethylene for weather and moisture resistance and treated on the adhesive side with silicone to assure easy removal of the liner from the product.

APPLICATION
Best results are achieved when applied to clean, dry surfaces at temperatures near 70°F (21°C). Minimum application temperature is 50°F (10°C). Remove worn non-slip tape using a putty knife and solvent-based adhesive remover. Be sure to remove all adhesive. Spray SlideRenu® SlideDetergent™ degrease on stairs and agitate with a scrub brush. Let stand for 5 minutes and rinse using a hot water pressure washer 3500 PSI (recommended). Lightly sand area where StairTape™ is to be applied with 200 grit sandpaper and wipe with MEK or Acetone solvent. Let stairs completely dry before applying StairTape™ material. Measure desired length of tape required and cut StairTape™ with an industrial scissor or utility knife with the release liner facing up. Peel off release liner back about 2” from one end and position piece on surface. IMPORTANT: Minimize touching adhesive with fingers. Continue to remove liner. Press firmly in place as liner is removed. For small pieces: Peel liner completely off cut piece. Holding piece by its edges, curve it gently with the adhesive side out. Align with the middle of the target surface and press down. Finally, press into firm contact with surface using a rubber hand roller by starting in middle and rolling out towards edges.
